I've spent years
taking care of this valley.

I spent 18 years with Child Support Enforcement, the majority of those years as a Court Specialist, making sure kids got what they were owed. Then I spent 21 more building Blue Ridge Senior Services, helping the Valley's seniors live with dignity in their own homes.

Years split between courtrooms fighting for kids and living rooms caring for seniors. I didn't learn kitchen-table issues from a poll — I learned them at kitchen tables in Roanoke, Salem, Vinton and the New River Valley.

For 21 years I've been President and CEO of Blue Ridge Senior Services — meeting payroll, handling compliance, and earning my Senior Advisor credential the hard way, one family at a time. I've signed the front of a paycheck, not just the back.

When politicians talk about small business they mean it as a metaphor; I'm describing my Tuesday.

From 2019 to 2024 I served on Roanoke City Council, and as Vice-Mayor from 2021 to 2022. I chaired the Audit and Personnel Committees — the unglamorous rooms where the money actually gets counted.

I helped raise $180,000 to build Roanoke's Henrietta Lacks statue, a story that brought NPR, CNN, and the BBC to our city. I proposed Roanoke's first electric bus, built the coalition to fund it, and in 2025 it rolled onto our streets.

Here's the honest turn: a council seat only reaches so far. The decisions squeezing families in this valley get made in Richmond.
